WESTIR Ltd Fair Work Commission Submission SCHADS Award – February 2026

The situation is that the SCHADS Award is one of 5 awards that the Commission is looking at based on gender undervaluation. All Modern Awards will eventually be looked at.  In April 2025, FWC published proposed classifications. In September last year I submitted a paper on behalf of WESTIR and was fairly direct as to how this proposal in now way benefited the sector. FWC then directed case conferencing between major parties. From this, resulted in the publication right on Christmas the other attachment from the Commission. While it is not perfect, it is a vast improvement on the April proposal. Submissions had to be presented by this Friday, 6 February.
